-it was time to end this nightmare of codependency and draw a sharp line between his life and mine
-my elaborate wall of denial had held until exactly that moment
-that was like a knife in my mother’s heart
-do you know what the word UNCONDITIONAL means? it means ALL THE TIME. NO MATTER WHAT. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. FOREVER.
-we gotta let Jerry sink or swim on his own- dad’s philosophy
-my fear of flying is replaced by a kind of relief that whatever happens, the waiting is over
-i dont know what i was expecting, but it wasn’t this.
-i arranged these ideas in my head like puzzle pieces, trying to figure out how one interlocked with the next and what larger picture they revealed.
-it was dumb thing to do, but hey, when you’re fucked-up, you do dumb things.
-she may have been a sweet person, but i don’t think she had your best interest.
-a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.
-all the mean words between us, all the hurt and despair-it was all gone,. vanquished like a bad dream.
